About Sutter Health Foundation
Over the past decade, the population of greater Yolo County has swelled by nearly 10%, and all indications point to continuing growth. The accessible, high-quality care provided by Sutter Davis Hospital is a critical element of serving a healthy region. As Davis and the surrounding areas continue to grow, we must keep our healthcare facilities and programs state-of-the-art, providing essential care right here in our community.
The 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment for Sutter Davis Hospital states that access to appropriate care is a need in this community, including mental and behavioral health care, primary and specialty care. Increasing the space and number of beds in the Emergency Department, birthing center, and medical surgical units addresses this need. With increased access to care, the overburdened Emergency Department will become a last resort for primary or specialty care.
Close to Home Campaign
In 2020, Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation launched the Close to Home Campaign to provide philanthropic support for the expansion. This important expansion will be completed by early 2024 and is designed to meet the needs of the growing Yolo County community. The Close to Home Campaign is underway with help from the Kelly Foundation for the 28,000 square foot expansion of the Emergency Department, Birthing Center and Medical-Surgical Unit at Sutter Davis Hospital.
