Yolo Crisis Nursery’s
Safe Stays and Wraparound Services Programs
About Yolo Crisis Nursery
Established in 2001, the mission of Yolo Crisis Nursery is to provide early intervention services in a safe environment to nurture healthy and resilient children, strengthen parents and preserve families. The overarching goal of Yolo Crisis Nursery is to protect children from the severe immediate and long-term impacts of abuse and neglect. On average, the Nursery’s trauma-informed, preservation-oriented approach to service helps to prevent at least 98% of the families we serve from being referred to Child Protective Services.
Safe Stays and Wraparound Services Programs
Safe Stays and Wraparound Services are companion programs designed with two overarching goals: the first, to keep children safe from harm in the midst of crisis, and the second, to bolster the resilience and capacity of their caregivers to provide a safe and healthy upbringing for their children. Measurable objectives for these programs include:
- Preserving families, with the aim of preventing at least 80% of those engaged at the Nursery from referral to Child Protective Services.
- Empowering families to protect and nurture their children, with the aim of at least 85% completing at least one referral for key services such as mental health support, substance abuse treatment, housing, employment, food security, and/or childcare.
- Building resilience through support as measured by at least 85% of the families served reporting a reduction in toxic stress and/or crisis mitigation.
